EATING DISORDER THERAPY
IN SCARSDALE, WESTCHESTER
In-person, weight-inclusive support for teens, adults and families — right in Scarsdale Village
If you're reading this, something probably brought you here. Maybe your relationship with food has felt exhausting for longer than you'd like to admit and you're tired of the rules, mental math, the way so much of your energy goes to a body you've been taught to fight. Or maybe it's someone you love: a daughter who's started skipping breakfast and snapping at you when you ask about it, a gut feeling that this is more than a phase.
Either way: we get it, and we're glad you found us.
Body Liberation Collective is a group therapy practice that specializes in eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image — it's all we do. Our Westchester office is in the heart of Scarsdale Village, where we see adults, teens, and families in person.
Who We Work With in Westchester
Adults. Some of our clients have carried this quietly for decades — through diets that promised everything, doctors who only wanted to talk about weight, and a culture that never let them just eat. Whether you're restricting, bingeing, stuck in cycles of chronic dieting, or living with a shrinking list of foods that feel "safe," it is not too late, and you are not too much.

Teens. Eating disorders so often take root during adolescence, when everything already feels like too much — school pressure, friendships, social media, a changing body. Whether your teen is restricting, bingeing, caught in food rules that keep tightening, or struggling with how they see their body, our clinicians know how to build trust with teens (even the ones who really, really don't want to be in therapy) and how to help them find their way back to themselves.

Parents and families. Watching your child struggle with food is its own kind of heartbreak. You might be afraid to say the wrong thing, exhausted from mealtime battles, or wondering whether you somehow caused this. (You didn't.) We're here for the whole family, from the "is this actually a problem?" phone call all the way through recovery. For some families, that includes Family-Based Treatment (FBT), an evidence-based approach where parents play an active role.
How we Work
Here's what makes us different: we will never make your body the problem. No diets, no weight loss plans — ever. When recovery does involve restoring weight and nourishment, we approach it with care and without shame, because healing your relationship with food should never mean shrinking yourself.
Our care is trauma-informed and LGBTQ+ affirming, and we don't work in a silo. When it's helpful, we collaborate with dietitians, psychiatrists, physicians and school counselors across Westchester, because healing goes better when everyone's on the same team.

Questions We Hear a Lot
-
Yes! It doesn't matter whether this started six months ago or thirty years ago — you don't have to be "sick enough," young enough, or anything enough to deserve support. Many of our clients tell us they wish they'd reached out sooner, but none of them wish they'd waited longer.
-
Trust your gut. If you've noticed changes around food, skipped meals, new "rules," anxiety at the dinner table, or your kid seems more withdrawn, more irritable, more preoccupied with their body, it's worth a conversation. You don't need a diagnosis to reach out, and you don't have to wait until things get worse. That's what the free consultation is for.
-
We're an out-of-network practice. Many of our clients get a good portion of sessions reimbursed through their out-of-network benefits, and we provide superbills to make that as painless as possible. Not sure what your plan covers? We'll help you figure it out on the consult call.
-
We'll recommend the clinician on our team who's the best fit for you (or your teen). From there, you'll schedule a free initial consultation directly through our secure client portal — a chance to meet, ask questions, and get a feel for whether it's a good match before committing to anything.
