VIRTUAL Eating Disorder Therapy
in New York, New jersey & Connecticut

Healing shouldn't be limited by geography. Body Liberation Collective is an eating disorder specialty practice - it's all we treat - and we provide virtual eating disorder therapy for adolescents (12+) and adults across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Online sessions are just as collaborative and effective as in-person care: trauma-informed, weight-inclusive (HAES-aligned), and delivered by clinicians who specialize exclusively in eating disorders and body image. What We Treat in Virtual Sessions

Virtual sessions are conducted via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform, with the same specialized care we provide in person:

  • Individual therapy for anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder (BED), ARFID, OSFED, orthorexia and body image concerns

  • Support for co-occurring concerns such as trauma, anxiety, depression and OCD

  • Evidence-based approaches including CBT-E, FBT, DBT-informed work, ACT and EMDR (when appropriate via telehealth)

For teens, virtual care ranges from individual therapy with parent involvement to Family-Based Treatment (FBT) - including for teens who insist nothing is wrong. We assess thoroughly and give families a clear recommendation.

Does Virtual Eating Disorder Therapy Work?

Yes. Research supports telehealth as an effective format for eating disorder treatment, particularly when care is specialized and collaborative. Many clients find that virtual therapy lowers the barrier to getting started and makes it easier to stay consistent - no commute, no waiting room, support that travels with you through school, work and life transitions.

Where We Practice Virtually

New Jersey

Our clinicians are licensed to provide teletherapy to clients located in New Jersey, and we work with teens and adults across the state. Specialized, weight-inclusive eating disorder care can be hard to find locally - virtual sessions bring it to you, no commute across the bridge. For adolescents, that includes Family-Based Treatment (FBT), with parents fully involved regardless of location.

Connecticut

We also provide virtual eating disorder therapy across Connecticut, with clients joining from Fairfield County -Greenwich, Stamford, and surrounding towns - and beyond. For families near the New York border, there's an option many appreciate: our Scarsdale office is a short drive from lower Fairfield County, so Connecticut clients can choose virtual sessions, in-person care, or a mix of both.

New York

From NYC to Westchester, Long Island, and upstate, New York clients work with us virtually from anywhere in the state - with the option of in-person sessions at our Scarsdale office for those nearby.

Who We Support

  • Adolescents and teens (12+) navigating disordered eating, body image concerns and social media pressures

  • Adults working on long-standing patterns with food and body image

  • Parents and families looking for guidance in supporting a loved one - including full FBT for teens who are restricting

Getting Started with Virtual Therapy

Sessions are 50 minutes, typically 1–2 times per week, conducted via a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. We collaborate with pediatricians, physicians, dietitian, and loved ones when helpful, and can incorporate family or team-based sessions as needed. In-person sessions are also available at our office in Scarsdale, NY.
